DVS Exhibition Night is this Thursday!
Dear DVS Families,
The Exhibition countdown is on – just 3 more days until Thursday’s Exhibition night, when DVS students showcase the work they’ve been doing this semester to their families and to the community! I hope that you will all make arrangements to join us that evening – in addition to 10th and 12th grade students showcasing their core classes, for the first time DVS students of all grade levels will be showcasing their seminar classes and their student-led clubs!
The DVS Families are hosting a pasta dinner before Exhibition beginning at 5:00pm in the downstairs cafeteria. There will be salad, fettuccine, veggies, lasagne and bread available for only $10 per plate, with all proceeds going to support the DVS advisory classes. Please bring your families, neighbors, and friends to enjoy a meal together before going to see what the students have been up to at DVS this year!
Following this Exhibition week will be a well-deserved week of Thanksgiving rest and then we return to wrap up the first semester, with the final day for students to turn in work for first semester on Friday, December 13th. These schedules for the last weeks of the first semester are below.
The final week of first semester, when students do their Presentations of Learning, will look different than it has in years past at DVS. Rather than attending for a half-day as they did in years past, all DVS students will come to school from 8:30am-2:25pm. In addition to their Presentation of Learning (POL), students will take End-Of-Course assessments (EOCs) for each of their classes – so it is critical that all students attend school on all of these days. Students will be given the details of these assessments in the coming weeks. The schedule for these exams is shown in the schedule below.
I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday night for Exhibition!
